Learn About Autism Research Center Gujarat

Who We Are

The Autism Research Center Gujarat stands apart as a comprehensive and compassionate center dedicated to supporting children with autism and their families.  Fueled by the vision of the Vision Public Charitable Trust, the center takes a unique, multi-faceted approach to research, education, and therapy.

Our Guiding Mission

Our core mission is to unlock the complexities of autism by recognizing the unique needs of every child. We believe that research is key to understanding and supporting individuals on the autism spectrum.

Our Story

A Legacy of Research and Support Since 2009

The Autism Research Centre Gujarat (ARC Gujarat) has been a beacon of hope for families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) since its inception in Vadodara, Gujarat, on April 13, 2009. Founded by Dr. Singh Virmani and Aneet Kaur, the center’s mission is clear: to support and empower children with disabilities through research and innovative approaches.

Making a Global Impact

ARC Gujarat’s dedication to research is evident in their impressive collection of 59 published research papers, with several gaining international recognition. This commitment to international collaboration pushes the boundaries of knowledge and contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of autism.

A Pioneering Focus

ARC Gujarat stands out for its early recognition of the complexities of autism. Unlike the traditional view, the center has championed the understanding of autism developing even after birth, particularly during adolescence. This focus on Adolescence in Autism acknowledges the unique challenges faced by autistic teenagers, including hormonal changes and the impact of excessive screen time.

Beyond Research: Empowering Autistic Teens

Recognizing that research alone isn’t enough, ARC Gujarat goes a step further. Their focus on Virtual Autism, a new spectrum potentially linked to excessive screen time, demonstrates their forward-thinking approach. Additionally, with the knowledge that puberty can be a difficult period for autistic individuals, ARC Gujarat offers support programs to help autistic teenagers navigate adolescence.
